The 2019-2020 TAYMOR FELLOWS

 

We are pleased to announce LILLIAN WHITE and JECAMIAH YBAÑEZ, the 2019-2020 TAYMOR FELLOWS.  Both recipients will travel to South America for their fellowships involving a full year of exploration and immersion in both traditional and contemporary indigenous theater making. 

Lillian White, a graduate of Oberlin College and NY based theater maker/director, will explore physical theater and festival and documentary performance in the Andean and Patagonian regions of Peru, Chile and Argentina.

Jecamiah Ybañez, a recent graduate of Yale’s MFA Directing program will focus on communal/theater rituals in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil and Chile as well as  exploring contemporary theater makers’ responses to life under dictatorships.
